About Rebecca
Founder, Chef & Recipe Developer of Proven Plates

My love affair with food began at 14, when I first declared I wanted to be a chef — and I’ve never looked back. Since 2010, I’ve worked in professional kitchens across a wide range of cuisines, from New American and Mexican to Jamaican and classic steakhouses. I trained in culinary school, served as a sous chef and kitchen manager, and even had the honor of catering for a Top Chef episode supporting Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign.

Before launching Proven Plates, I ran my own cottage bakery, Treat Me Desserts, where I poured my heart into custom baked goods for hundreds of local families and events. That experience deepened my love for creating food that brings people together, something I carry into everything I do today.
I started Proven Plates because I wanted to help others feel cared for through food. Whether someone’s a busy parent, recovering from surgery, balancing a demanding career, or simply overwhelmed by daily life, I step in to ease the burden and bring back joy to their meals. Cooking isn’t just a skill for me, it’s my love language, my purpose, and the way I show up for others.

When I walk into a client’s kitchen, I don’t just come to cook. I come to serve, to bring comfort, and to make your day a little easier and a lot more delicious.
Because for me, food isn’t just fuel — it’s connection. And everything I make is Proven.
My Story
My Food Philosophy
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all when it comes to health or food. I’ve explored many paths myself — paleo, vegan, gluten-free, and I currently focus on eating in a way that fuels my physical and spiritual growth. I believe wellness is a lifelong journey, not a finish line and I meet my clients with the same grace and flexibility.

At Proven Plates, I focus on bold, nourishing meals with deep flavor and a whole lot of heart. I draw from my Creole roots and love of Latin and Jamaican cuisine, creating healthier versions of comfort food that don’t compromise on taste. My kitchen staples? Loads of fresh garlic, herbs, global seasonings, and love.

What makes Proven Plates different is that we don’t aim for simplicity, we aim for soul. My approach is personal, collaborative, and deeply rooted in purpose. I’ll work with you or your nutritionist to craft meals that suit your tastes, needs, and lifestyle goals. Whether I’m preparing your weekly meals or creating a memorable dinner for your guests, my goal is to serve with purpose, easing your load while adding something meaningful to your table.
